September 14, 1931 - February 12, 2026

Nadine Lanyon Rogel, 94, passed peacefully on February 12, 2026, surrounded by the deep love of her family.

Born on September 14, 1931, in Rahway, New Jersey, Nadine lived a life as colorful and spirited as her personality. To know her was to know energy. She was spunky, curious, and indomitable — truly indefatigable in the way she moved through life. Strong-willed and independent, she carried herself with class, confidence, and unmistakable style. She had high standards, sharp intelligence, and a wit that made every conversation lively — and always candid.

A natural entrepreneur with an artistic eye, Nadine owned and operated two beloved boutiques during her lifetime — a women's clothing store in Florida and later a maternity and newborn boutique in Edwards, Colorado. Her shops were more than businesses; they were extensions of her creativity, taste, and joyful spirit. She had an instinct for style and presentation and loved helping others feel beautiful and celebrated. The children's store, in particular, allowed her colorful imagination and creative energy to flourish.

Nadine was charismatic and outgoing, with a smile that could light a room and sparkly, slightly mischievous eyes that hinted she was always in on the joke. She loved to laugh — and her laugh was unforgettable. Humor came naturally to her, and even in serious moments she could find something clever to say.

She was joyful, upbeat, and optimistic, with a positive spirit that lifted those around her. Beneath her feisty determination was a gentle presence and quiet strength. She lived life on her own terms, guided by a strong moral compass. She was caring, thoughtful, and deeply devoted to her family. Loving came easily to her — and she expected a lot, because she gave a lot.

Stylish, artistic, and tasteful, Nadine enjoyed life's pleasures — spirited shopping trips that earned her the affectionate title of "shopaholic," iced coffee runs, bakery fruit bars, and sharing her beloved fried green tomatoes and pecan pie with those lucky enough to sit at her table.

Above all, Nadine loved her family fiercely. She is survived by her son Stuart Rogel and his wife Bevan; her son Richard Rogel and his wife Susan; her daughter Rory Rogel; and her granddaughters Mollye Picket and her husband Matt; and Alexandra Martz and her husband, Brandon. She was endlessly proud of the generations she helped shape and looked forward with joy to welcoming her first great-grandchild.

Conversation with Nadine was never dull. She was outspoken yet warm, witty yet kind. Encouraging and resilient, she faced life with confidence and determination. She lived on her own terms — stubborn when she needed to be, generous when it mattered most.

She will be remembered for her intelligence, her laughter, her stylish grace, and the unmistakable twinkle in her eye. The world feels quieter without her, but brighter for having known her.

Her family carries forward her resilience, her warmth, and her indomitable spirit. Together, they look forward to a celebration of her life later this year in her beloved Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Nadine's honor to the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center at the University of Michigan, supporting cancer research and patient care. Gifts may be made online at: https://www.rogelcancercenter.org/giving
