Nancy Rose Davis (née Balsinger), 83, of Dover, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on March 2, surrounded by family and friends.
Born on August 18, 1942, in Peoria, Illinois, Nancy lived a life rooted in kindness, care, faith, and connection. Her Catholic faith was central to who she was and guided the way she lived and served others throughout her life.
Nancy devoted much of her life to caring for people, beginning with a long career as a registered nurse. She started in the Air Force, where she met her beloved husband Bill, partner of 55 years. She brought her faith into action throughout her life, as well, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering as a parish nurse, offering both medical guidance and compassionate presence to members of her church community. Later in life, she and Bill opened a massage therapy business together, continuing their shared commitment to healing and compassion. She now joins Bill, who passed in 2023, after a lifetime of love and partnership.
Nancy was known for her warm, welcoming spirit and her ability to leave a positive impression on everyone she met. This was evident to all who knew her, including the staff and residents at St. Ann, where she spent her final years. She was deeply cherished and will be missed terribly. She had a way of making people feel seen, comfortable, and appreciated, whether they were lifelong friends or strangers she had just met.
Nancy found joy in life’s simple pleasures—her faith; time spent with family (whether in person or during weekly Zoom video sessions); her tiny dog, Little Bit, who charmed nearly everyone he encountered; Disney movies she could watch over and over again; and early morning trips to the ocean, sipping coffee while watching the waves roll in.
Nancy is survived by her children: Kim (Joe), Jeff, Janet (Karl), and Kristine; her grandchildren Megan (Billy), Samantha, and Roxanne; and her great-grandson Emmett. She also leaves behind her younger brother, Jack Balsinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rena and John, and her husband, Bill.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Nancy’s life.
