Nancy M. (D'Olimpio) Ducharme, age 60, a longtime resident of Braintree, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Royal Braintree Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in the comfort of her loving family, after a courageous journey with Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA).
Nancy was born in Quincy, to the late O. James and Marie J. (Ricciuti) D'Olimpio. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1983. She earned an Associate degree from Quincy College in 1985, and graduated from the Massachusetts School of Barbering in Quincy in 1988.
Nancy was the well-known owner and operator of Nanci's Barber Shop in Braintree and Hingham. She began her career at Clippers in Marina Bay in Quincy. She later joined the team at Larry Mortell's Plaza Barbershop at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree before opening her own shop in May, 1993. Nancy enjoyed countless friendships with her fellow barbers and clients throughout her many years in business. Nanci's Barber Shop was famous for the lollipop tree, Monday Night Football, and a warm, welcoming family atmosphere. She loved her community and gave back through such events as the Cut-a-Thon fundraisers, donating all proceeds to Braintree Public Schools and various charities.
Nancy was an artist in many ways. Creativity was woven into everything she did, from her beautiful eye for photography, to her art of barbering, her natural talent for drawing, and her deep passion for yoga. Nancy was also a gifted cook, known for preparing the most incredible Italian classics that brought people together around the table just like her late mother, Marie. Most of all, she cherished time spent on Cape Cod with her family and friends.
Nancy's light and generosity had no bounds. Those lucky enough to know her can attest to her zest for life and adventurous spirit. A consummate business woman, dedicated wife, and most importantly, a loving, caring mother who actively supported her children's many interests and pursuits. She approached life with positivity, determination, and humor. She carried herself with a quiet beauty and an effervescent spirit that made others feel seen and welcomed.
