Nancy Ann Edwards, born on January 14, 1945, in Tampa, Florida, passed away after a lengthy illness on February 14, 2026, in her hometown of Tampa. She was 81 years old.

A lifelong Floridian, Nancy pursued her education with passion and distinction. She graduated from the Academy of the Holy Name in Tampa before earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of South Florida. Her academic focus culminated in a Master’s degree in Modern European History, reflecting her deep intellectual curiosity and love for the humanities.

Nancy's professional life was marked by her dedication to the arts. From 1983 to 1984, she served as Acting Curator at the Tampa Museum of Art. In this role, she contributed to the cultural fabric of her community and helped foster appreciation for art history—one of her lifelong interests.

Beyond her academic and professional achievements, she was an avid chef and gardener who found joy in cultivating beauty both in the kitchen and outdoors. Her adventurous spirit led her to embrace hang gliding and target shooting, pursuits that reflected her fearless nature and zest for life. A devoted animal lover, she supported animal rescue for felines as well as canines. Nancy was always mindful of the gifts and responsibilities of the U.S. Constitution, and followed political issues and elections both local and national with great concern.

Nancy is fondly remembered by her two sons from a prior marriage, Michael T. Baird and spouse Kristy of Greenwood, Indiana, and Noah Baird of New York. Her legacy continues through four married grandchildren—Brianna and Michael Amspaugh, Aria and Cody Hall, Sean and Genesee Baird, Dustin Baird and spouse Emma Long—and numerous great-grandchildren, whose lives have been touched by Nancy's presence. She also leaves behind her second husband of forty years-- artist, cyclist, sidekick, loyal dog-walker, and caregiver Mike Fusco.

She was preceded in death by close relations Roy and Jane Bernzott of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a brother, Thomas Edwards, of Houston, Texas and Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Nancy Ann Edwards leaves behind a legacy enriched by intellect, creativity, adventure, and a winning personality. May her memory and strength in facing physical adversity encourage and bring comfort to those who knew her.
