Nancy Farrell Burrer, 92, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on March 29, 2026, surrounded by love and in the devoted company of her husband of 68 years, Don Burrer.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 19, 1933, Nancy attended Walnut Hills High School and later studied at Wellesley College before graduating from the University of Cincinnati. She met the love of her life, Don, in Cincinnati, and their friendship blossomed into a lifelong romance during their college years in the Boston area. They eventually put down roots in Wayland, Massachusetts, where they raised three children and built a life centered on family, learning, and community.

Nancy was an avid reader, a devoted bridge player, and a lover of puzzles and board games. And there was always a round of Ping-Pong before dinner. For many years she served as a hospice volunteer. In retirement she traveled with Don to many interesting places around the world and enjoyed adventures in their amphibian airplane. During the last decades of her life, she lived with a slowly disabling blood disorder, which she endured with grace and without complaint.

Some of her family's and friends' most cherished memories were made at the family's New Hampshire home on Lake Winnipesaukee. Summers brought boating, golf, and tennis; winters were filled with skiing and snowmobiling. Those seasons together remain among the most joyful chapters of her life.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Don; their three children, Jeff Burrer (Ann Marie), Amy Robson (Mark), and Flip Burrer (Cheri); her three grandchildren, Johnny, Burke, and Carter; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a family whose lives are immeasurably richer for having been shaped by her love.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on April 11 at the Barclay of Sarasota (Key West auditorium) in Sarasota, FL. Burial will take place at the Sarasota National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on May 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tideswell Hospice (https://tidewellhospice.org/) or Church of the Palms Sarasota (https://www.churchofthepalms.org/give/)
