Nancy Belle Fenton passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona surrounded by family. She was 80 years old.

Born on April 3, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Nancy was the daughter of Randall Nash and Evelyn Belle Reese Fenton.

She attended Thomas A. Edison High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She spent the large majority of her life working in Systems & Procedures at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN until she moved to Fountain Hills in 1991. She retired in 2001.

Nancy had a profound love for animals that shaped much of her life. She was a frequent visitor and supporter of the Out of Africa Park and the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center. Her home was always filled with the warmth and companionship of beloved pets. Over the years, she cared for many cherished animals including her dogs Oscar, Tever and Emmy, and her cats Taj and (Baby) Kanu. At the time of her passing, she was lovingly accompanied by her dog Sophie and her cats Ilsa and Millie—each a testament to her lifelong devotion to animal companionship.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Helterbrand; her grandson Alex Mayer, grandson Noah Helterbrand and granddaughter Maia Helterbrand. Nancy’s family was a source of great pride and joy in her life.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Joann Fenton and Kay Schumacher, as well as by her parents.

Nancy’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
