Sherman, Nancy Flynn. West Yarmouth, Massachusetts
Our beloved Nancy crossed over on Sunday, January 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She had previously beaten breast cancer in 2008, with the help of the Dana Farber Cancer Center and the Faulkner Hospital and Milford Cancer Center Doctors, Nurses and Staff.
Nancy was diagnosed with unrelated lung cancer in 2024 and wished to thank the good Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis and the Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center, Cape Cod VNA, and Hospice for their incredible Professionalism, Compassion and Support during the last two years.
Nancy was born January 3, 1958, in Newton Wellsley Hospital to Veronica Segreve
Flynn and Robert Flynn. Nancy was the fourth born of five children and was raised in Needham and Falmouth.
Nancy wed, and raised her family in Needham, Upton and eventually Uxbridge before retiring to West Yarmouth. Her blue Irish eyes were always smiling when gardening, solving puzzles or walking the beach.
Among her most cherished experiences were: Summers spent with family and friends in Falmouth, being a Soccer Mom, coaching soccer in Upton, hosting pool parties and welcoming into her home the many friends of her children for whom she cared deeply.
Nancy was an accomplished gourmet chef and baker who didn't want you interfering while she was creating, always cooking up something special.
Nancy's three boys made her smile the most except for her best friend Brady—the Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle— who brought more happiness, laughter, and comfort to her life than she ever could have imagined.
Nancy is survived by her Life Partner Gerry Ford, her son John Sherman and his Wife Jessica of Parrish Fl, her son Michael Sherman of West Yarmouth, her son Brendan Sherman and his life partner Maria Thompson of Upton, her stepchildren: Robert Ford and his Wife Sandra, Patrick Ford and his Wife Natalie and Danielle Ford Fuoss. Nancy is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, many Nieces and Nephews, and Sisters-in-law: Tara Ford Ward, Sharon and Scott Bonner and Hilary Ford. Nancy is also survived by her brother, Bob Flynn and his Wife Maryanne and her brother Tom Flynn and his Husband Larry Iamello and by her favorite sister Judy Flynn.
Nancy's parents, sister Sandra Edlin, and Brother-in-law Donny predeceased her.
