Nancy Minor

Nancy V. Minor, 95, of Ashburnham, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at home with family by her side after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy was born in Teaneck, NJ, December 14, 1930, only child to Frank and Freelove (Conyers) Russell.

Nancy held several employment positions throughout her lifetime including Hidden Valley Ski Area, H&R Block, Heartland Grocery Store, La Grassa's Variety Store, and finally retiring from the New England Telephone Company.

She had a passion for crocheting and knitting and especially singing. She sang with the Chordells, the Ashby Oratorio singers, the Leonard Gaskins Choral, The Ashby Crossroads gospel group, and in the church choir.

She was a lifetime member of the Ashby Congregational Church serving on numerous committees over the years.

She leaves her husband, Walter Minor, of Ashburnham, two daughters, Amy Pendlebury, of Winchendon , Cathrine Johnson of Ashby, stepdaughters, Pam Hill, of CA, Cindy Sherman, of KS, stepsons, Philip Minor, of AZ, and Steven Minor, of CA. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren & 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband, John P Pendlebury, her son John P Pendlebury, Jr., & stepdaughter, Julie Nies.

We want to thank the wonderful hospice staff whose skill and care enabled her to stay in her own home and keep her as comfortable as possible during her last weeks.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Ashby Congregational Church, 21 New Ipswich Rd, Ashby, MA.
