Nancy Spann

Nancy Mercer Spann, born on January 11, 1946, in Alton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Pasadena, Texas. She was 80 years old.

Nancy was the beloved daughter of Juanita Burns of Alton, Illinois, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her son Terry Welch and her brother Lonnie Mercer of Alton, Illinois. Despite these losses, Nancy's life was filled with love and cherished connections.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Lonna Welch of Pasadena, Texas, and her son Larry Welch of Texas City, Texas. Nancy also leaves behind her treasured granddaughter Ashley Jaramillo and three loving sisters: Judy Traum of California, Joyce Kyle of Alton, Illinois, and Janet Lajoie of Kansas.

Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. One of her favorite pastimes was walking two miles a day—a testament to her dedication to staying active and enjoying the outdoors.

Her memory will be held dear by those who knew her. May her legacy bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
