Nancy A. Tausevich, 65, of Lakeville, MA, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2025, just one day after celebrating her 65th birthday, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Nancy attended Weymouth schools before graduating from Silver Lake High School in Pembroke, class of 1978, and later continued her education at Massasoit Community College and North Adams State College. Her roots in the South Shore ran deep; her family members were fixtures in the community for fifty years as the owners of Marion's Shoe Store at Weymouth Landing in East Braintree where so many family members and friends worked over the years. Nancy enjoyed a distinguished 30-year career in management at Talbots and later found great joy in her second career as a real estate broker with Jack Conway, a profession she truly loved.

Faith and community were central to Nancy's life. For many years, she was a dedicated member of the North Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Middleboro, where she formed many of her most cherished, lifelong friendships.

Nancy's heart belonged to the water. As a child she spent her summers at the family cottage in Pocasset, MA boating, biking and buying penny candy. As an adult she settled in Lakeville, where she owned a beautiful home on Long Pond. Her home was a central gathering place for friends and family. Everyone was welcome to spend time around the campfire and on the pontoon boat. Her kind spirit and infectious laughter drew people together. She was the glue that bought new friendship circles together. She also found a second home in Provincetown, where she felt embraced by a welcoming community. As a legendary music aficionado, she was a walking encyclopedia of song trivia—famously able to identify the artist and album of almost any track within the first few notes. Her adventurous spirit led her on "musical pilgrimages" to Memphis and Nashville, and tropical escapes to St. Thomas and Key West with her devoted circle of friends, "Team Nancy." Nancy never let her illness steal her rhythm, always dancing with joy right to the end.

Family:

Nancy was predeceased by her father, Fred R. Tausevich, and her mother, Marion (Shoales) Tausevich. She also cherished the memory of her loyal pooches, including Toby, Max, Bailey, and Sammy, whom she considered family.

She is survived by her step-mother, Gail E. (Faustini) Tausevich; also her step-children, Timothy and Amy Chouinard, whom she helped raise and remained deeply fond of. She is also survived by siblings Marion A. Dewey of Middleboro, Fred J. Tausevich married to Kathleen Tausevich of Plymouth , George R. Tausevich married to Marie Tausevich of Weymouth, Robert E. Tausevich of New Hampshire, Ernest Brummitt married to Marcia Brummitt of North Carolina, Nikki A. Tausevich of New Hampshire, and Sandi L. Tausevich of Duxbury. She was also predeceased by her sister Jacqueline Perrault who was married to Steven Perrault of Florida.

Nancy held an especially close relationship with her nephew Edward R. Dewey of Middleboro with whom she was just 4 years older, and was a doting aunt to many great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind the loyal friends and members of "Team Nancy."

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to her loyal caregivers during the past five years: her friends Mary Carpenteri and Linda Kauranen, both of Lakeville, and her sister Nikki Tausevich from New Hampshire.
