It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nannette ("Zee") Zolotorofe of Boynton Beach, Florida. A devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Nan, lovingly known as 'Nana Nan', passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025 at the age of 88.
Born on May 15, 1937 as Nannette Wilma Hirsch, Nan was raised in Manhattan with her brother, Daniel. Nan cherished her relationship with Daniel and they remained extremely close until his passing in 2018.
Nan was so proud of her four sons, David, Jeff, Richard and Marc, with whom she had a very special relationship. She also treasured her daughters-in-law, Jill, Laura and Nancy, her grandchildren, Jessica, Allison (Brad), Daniel, Nadia, Brian (Jen), Rebecca, Tyler, Hannah, Sydney and Luke, and her great grandsons, Dylan and Logan.
Nan spent most of her adult life living in Westchester, New York with her husband of 53 years, Lewis Zolotorofe. They moved to Boynton Beach 20 years ago to enjoy their retirement together where they lived out their golden years. Nan was a loving devoted wife, and she and Lew were inseparable until the day he passed in 2012.
Nan loved elephants and had hundreds of elephant collectibles, which she believed brought luck to her and her family.
When she wasn't playing canasta with friends, Nan loved to paint and craft and most of all, to spend quality time with Lew and her boys.
Nan was a fighter to the very end. Over 20 years ago, she was diagnosed with aggressive ovarian cancer and was given 3 to 5 years to live. With admirable strength and determination, through countless doctors' appointments, treatments, and surgeries, Nan refused to give up and she beat the odds over and over again.
Nan will be missed dearly.
