Nathan Bright, age 61, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on December 23rd, 2025, after a long and hard-fought battle with prostate cancer.
Nathan was an extraordinary conversationalist - someone who could talk to anyone about anything and always had a story to share. He was a gifted storyteller, drawing people in with warmth, humor, and curiosity. From his adventurous and spirited childhood to a career that took him traveling across the globe, Nathan lived a life full of movement, experience, and stories well told.
Above all else, Nathan loved his family. He shared 42 years with his wife, Suzanne, the love of his life, with whom he was best friends in every sense of the word. Their partnership was the center of his world. He was a devoted and deeply loving father to his three children - his son, Trey Bright, and his daughters, Emma Bright and Olivia Bright - who meant everything to him.
Nathan was funny, intelligent, endlessly curious, and happiest when outdoors with friends - fishing in the backyard, camping, or hosting a pig roast. He had a way of making people feel seen and heard. He was always the one who called to check in, a steady and caring brother and friend, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Nathan is survived by his wife, Suzanne Bright; his children, Trey Bright, Emma Bright, and Olivia Bright; his daughter-in-law, Agustina Bright; his grandchildren, Kayce Bright and Colton Bright; and his siblings, Adam Bright, Courtnie Prophett, and Tara O'Connell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary O'Connell and Bob O'Connell, and his brother, Trey Bright.
A celebration of Nathan's life will be held in the late spring or early summer. Details will be shared at a later date.
