Nathaniel Love Jr

Nathaniel Love Jr. , passed away on October 14, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia. He was 84 years old.
Born on January 4, 1941, in Bartow, Florida, Nathaniel was the son of Nathaniel Love and Cora Mae Love. Nathaniel was raised by his loving Aunts Dana A Middleton and Lola Mae Smith. He grew up in a close-knit community and was nurtured in faith at St. James AME Church in Bartow. A graduate of Union Academy's Class of 1958, Nathaniel went on to pursue higher education later in life, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the University of Texas at Dallas.
In 1959, Nathaniel answered the call to serve his country by joining the military. His service which included a tour of Vietnam, spanned over two decades until his retirement in 1980. During his distinguished career, he served as a Vietnam War veteran.

Nathaniel's personal journey included many chapters. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine Love, as well as by his former spouses Barbara Jean Madison and Ruby Love. He was also preceded in death by his father Nathaniel Love, mother Cora Mae Love, paternal aunt Dana A. Middleton, and brother Earl Love.

He is survived by his daughter Kamiaci Latier Love and son Dr. Rick Love His legacy continues through his grandchildren: granddaughter Koi Donyell Love and grandson Kevalon Demond Love. His sister Sandra kay Link(Willard), Autoria Fuller, Brothers Bernard Love(Nadine) Tommy Love(Harriet), Lawrence Love(Cheryl).

Nathaniel loved fishing and was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders. In later years, he rededicated his life to Christ, reaffirming the spiritual foundation laid during his youth.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and strength to those who carry forward his legacy. A Memorial Service will be held on October 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. James 1020 Magnolia St.
