Naudia Lewis

Naudia Lewis age 11 was born May 13, 2014 to the proud parents of Marvin Lewis Sr. and Yolanda Lewis in Michigan City, Indiana. She was a beautiful soul and was never selfless. Naudia never wanted to hurt anyone's feelings. She never yelled at anyone, unless they made her mad. Naudia was a persistent young lady that usually got what she wanted.
Naudia loved her siblings and had a special bond with each of them. She loved to stay up with her sister Gloria and dance until three in the morning because she loved to dance. She loved making and watching Tik Tok and YouTube videos, with Kendra. Naudia and her sister gave her brother Marvin a hard time, because they loved him so much. As for Taraji there was nothing, she would not do for her. Even when Naudia was sick and in the hospital, she would make time for her siblings by playing games or just talking with them until she got tired . Then she would tell her mother to tell her little roaches goodnight and that she loved them. When your birthday came and Naudia knew it was your day, she would sing Happy Birthday to you and put her own little touch in it by saying cha cha cha at the end. Naudia always made the best out of the worst situation. One year, she ripped her nail on the door, went to the emergency room, she got her finger all wrapped up, and when she got home, she was ready to go back to the party which most people would never do. When I say Naudia was an old soul she was. Even on days she felt bad and her teacher would suggest that they play a game to make her feel better she would say "No I want to do my schoolwork." In just 15 months, she has made a beautiful family at Riley's, and they have shown up for her. She touched so many lives in such a short period of time. They became our extended family. The doctors and nurses, when her family could not be there, always knew how to get her up and get her going, so she wouldn't feel so alone.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025 Naudia answered her call from the Lord at Riley Children Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories, her loving mother Yolanda Lewis, stepdad, Ronnie Howard, dad Marvin Lewis, brother, Marvin Lewis Jr., her sisters, Taraji Lewis, Kendra Lewis, and Gloria Grace Howard, grandparents, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will truly miss her.
Naudia wouldn't want us to be sad, because she was always happy. It is hard not to feel sad when she is no longer here with us. Our lights dimmed a little when she left. Her kindness is a powerful reminder that we are not alone in this endeavor. It reinforces our belief that people are inherently good, and if we come together, we can achieve something extraordinary.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. All services will be at Bethel Lutheran Church 411 Montgomery Street Gary, Indiana.
