Neville Anthony Giles, 61, passed away on October 13, 2025, in Gresham, Oregon.

Born on June 22, 1964, in Georgetown, Guyana. Neville's life journey took him across continents and through the skies. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, laying the foundation for a career that would blend technical skill with a deep sense of purpose.

In 1997, Neville met Kimberly online—an early pioneer of digital connection before online dating became mainstream. Despite the distance between them—Neville in Brooklyn and Kimberly in Portland—their bond grew strong. After years of long-distance devotion, they married on August 19, 2000. Soon after their wedding, they relocated to Belleville, Michigan for Neville's job flying cargo. When that chapter came to a close, they faced a pivotal decision: return to Brooklyn or settle in Portland. Together, they chose Portland as their home.

Neville was a certified pilot who flew both cargo and private charter flights. His passion for aviation extended beyond the cockpit; he was also a certified ground and flight instructor, sharing his knowledge and love for flying with others.

In 2015, Neville began working as a bus operator for TriMet in Portland. His time behind the wheel brought him into contact with people from all walks of life—and he always had a story to tell about his experiences on the road. His storytelling became one of his trademarks among those who knew him well. He retired from TriMet at the end of August 2025.

Neville is survived by his beloved wife Kimberly; his sisters Debra and Sharon; and his nephews Brandon, Malik, and Shomari. Preceding him in death are his parents, Neville Sr. and Doris.

May Neville's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
