It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas David Lindberg, age 36, of Plano, Texas, on Dec. 21, 2025, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Born on Nov. 16, 1989, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Nicholas was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose impact on those who knew him will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his father, David Lindberg, and stepmother, Rose, of Plano, Texas; his older brother, Matt, and sister-in-law, Sarah; his nephew, David; his niece, Riley, all of Columbus, Nebraska; and numerous other family members and friends who loved him deeply.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Graham Lindberg, and his grandparents, Jim and Joan Graham and Harv and Bev Lindberg.
A graduate of Plano West Senior High in 2008, Nicholas went on in 2014 to earn a degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Memphis, something he was especially proud of. While his professional life was marked by a talent for sales and an exceptional ability to connect with people, it was his deep, sensitive nature and the memories he shared with those closest to him that truly defined who he was.
Nicholas was known for his sharp wit, his caring heart and his ability to bring light into a room with his presence. Those who knew him best remember the times he would immerse himself in hobbies like sports memorabilia, watching his favorite shows or spending time with his family, especially the younger generations. His time as an uncle to David and Riley brought him great joy, and he cherished every moment with them.
Despite the struggles Nicholas faced in life, he always had moments of kindness and connection that resonated deeply with those who truly knew him.
Nicholas' illness was part of his story, but it never defined him. His ability to navigate life, even with its hardships, showed his strength, resilience and the love he carried for others. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength.
His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with those he loved - his mother, and grandparents.
There will be no public funeral or memorial service. Those who wish to honor Nicholas’s memory may consider making a donation to 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, a free, confidential U.S. service you can call or text 988 to get 24/7 support from trained counselors during emotional distress or a mental health crisis. You can donate at https://988lifeline.org/donate.
Nicholas may no longer be physically with us, but he will forever remain in our hearts and memories. We love you, Nick. Rest in peace.
