Norma Pokorny, 60, passed away on September 30, 2025, after an extended illness.
Born and raised in Rockville, Maryland, Norma was the youngest daughter of the late Norman and Carolyn Pokorny of Venice, Florida.
Norma spent most of her life in Maryland, later residing in Germantown and Frederick before most recently making her home in Kennebunk, Maine.
A graduate of Wootton High School in Rockville, Norma went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Towson University in Towson, Maryland. She built a long and successful career in financial and administrative management, working for several organizations over the years. Most notably, Norma dedicated more than two decades to FedEx Corporation, where she made a lasting impact and developed many meaningful professional and personal relationships.
Norma was a kind and loving person who cherished being around people. Everyone loved Norma. She had an infectious smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to laugh. She was an animal lover and especially loved her dogs.
She is survived by her sisters Jennifer Szulinski (and husband Andy), and Karlene Stecher (and husband Andy), her niece Katharine Stecher and nephew Alexander Stecher.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 8th at 10am at Corpus Christi Church in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Reception to follow.
