Olga was born and raised on the South Side of Pittsburgh,
where she was the fifth of thirteen children born to
Theodora and Michael Dudiak. Olga was sister to Walter,
Mary (Kuhar), Peter, Joseph, Eugenia (DeCarlo),
Stephanie (Colligan), Rosella (Kearns), Ann (Lucas),
Nick, Theresa (Martin), and John.
The values of family, faith, and service to others, that she
learned from her parents, stayed with her all her life.
Olga attended St. Basil's Academy in Philadelphia, PA
where she graduated with the honor of Valedictorian.
It was here that she first met her husband, John.
Olga and John married in October of 1952 and would go
on to raise six children together, Patti (son Karsten), John,
Dan (deceased), Caroline (husband Terry and daughter Jena),
Jackie (daughter Nikki), and Tom.
While raising these six children, Olga attended the
Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with
the honor of Summa Cum Laude.
Olga used her degree from IUP to work for the
Armstrong County Chapter of the PARC Organization
in Kittanning, PA, and as a teacher in the local school system.
Olga enjoyed her many years in Western Pennsylvania, raising her
children and spending time with family and friends. She moved to
California from Kittanning Pennsylvania as her children were
moving away from the area.
While living in California, Olga spent her time exploring and
enjoying the West Coast. She continued with her passionate
work for helping others with her years of service with the
House of Yahweh Christian Charity Organization.
Olga also made many trips to Ukraine where she
could use her bilingual skills as a translator and teacher in the
Doctors Without Borders Ukrainian community.
Olga was a devout Ukrainian and a member of
St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church on the
South Side of Pittsburgh, PA , along with St. Mary's Ukrainian
Catholic Church in Ford City, PA and St. Anthony of Padua
Catholic Church in Gardena, CA.
Olga lived a good long life!
She is remembered by her children, grandchildren,
god children, family, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A ceremony of remembrance will be celebrated with family
at St. Anthony of Padua in Gardena, CA
