Olga Lidia Montenegro, 58 longtime resident of Salinas, Ca passed away February 22, 2026. She was born December 15, 1967 in Mexicali, Mexico. In 1973, her family made their way to Placencia, California which she remembered with deep fondness. The families journey eventually brought them to Salinas, California where she would create a full life full of laughter, love and many memories.

A proud graduate of Alisal High School’s class of 1986, Olga carried her accomplishment with such joy. She believed in showing up, standing up and doing things the right way. These values shaped not only her life but those around her.

For 39 years she shared a devoted partnership with the love of her life, Martin Montenegro. Together they built a strong foundation rooted in loyalty, resilience and love. Side by side they raised four children who were her greatest pride.

Olga lived with unstoppable energy. She had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for the open road, always ready to pick up her keys and go. Kid drop-offs, errands, all turned into adventures. Simple drives became escapes, and no destination was ever to small if it it meant getting out on the open road. She simply never slowed down.

Her home was her stage. On any given day, you could find her cleaning with her music turned up loud, signing her heart out. She transformed everyday chores into joyful performances. Her laughter echoed through her home and her presence filled every room with her spark of life. Simple joys like planting wild flowers, watching them bloom brought her much joy.

Olga was an incredible cook, never believing in cooking “just enough.” She cooked in abundance, make sure there was more than enough food to feed everyone and then some. Her kitchen was always filled with rich aromas of the dinner she was cooking, or a sweet dessert she had just made from scratch. No one ever left hungry and many left with an abundance to take home. Feeding those around her was her love language and she poured her heart into every meal she cooked.

A strong fearless mother who believed in tough love, high standards, and endless devotion. She taught her children to work hard, through her lessons Olga showed up, school functions, fundraisers, school site and school board meetings. If her children needed support or advocacy she was there without hesitation.

Olga’s generosity knew no limits. She was always willing to give anyone a ride, including strangers. She gave freely – her time, her energy, and heart- strong advice. She had a way of making others feel cared for, supported and never alone.

Her spirit lives on in the echos of her favorite song turned up loud, while cooking a grand meal for those she cared for. Her life was vibrant, and her courage to keep on going no matter what. Her love will shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed, loved and forever remembered. Olga is preceded in death by her father Agustin Lopez. She is survived by her husband Martin Montenegro. Her children Jacquelyne, Luis Martin, Vivianna, Danny Montenegro. Grandchildren Jacob and Matthew Garcia. Mother Consuelo Lopez, Sisters Elvira and Sara Lopez and brother Miguel Lopez. Numerous nieces and nephews.

A small memorial will be held at Healey Mortuary on Thursday March 5, 2026 from 2-4pm.
