Olin Cornelius Doby was born in Tampa Florida August 27, 1964 to Herman and Patricia (McClendon) Doby. His family and friends growing up, knew him as "Corky". He passed away in his home on January 7, 2026 with his wife Shelly and his sister-in-law Christy at his side.
Olin was a native of Tampa Florida and lived off and on for many years there. He graduated from Plant High School in 1981 and also received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tampa in 1992.
Olin moved to his adopted hometown of Portland Oregon in 1992. While working as a Vice President at US Bank he met Shelly Steckler and in 1994 they married.
Olin worked for many years in the IT field until he suffered a catastrophic brain aneurysm rupture which left him permanently disabled. Those that were fortunate enough to meet him remember him as someone that faced extreme adversity in his life, but he always had a beautiful smile and a laugh.
Olin had a great love of his family and all people. He would talk to anyone about anything but especially loved football and would talk about the Florida gators and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Herman and Patricia DOBY, brother, SFC Quentin Doby, mother-in-law Ellen Steckler, nephews Brock Steckler and Mitchell Steckler.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years Shelly Steckler Doby, father-in-law Dennis (Lynn) Steckler, siblings, Leon (Tina) Doby, Linda Doby-Williams, siblings in law Ernestine Doby, Ken (Laurel) Steckler, Curt (Lori) Steckler, Scott (Sharman) Steckler, Dean Steckler, Christy (Chuck) Reeder, Stuart (Jessica) Steckler and nieces and nephews Clarence, Warren, Valinda Lloyd, Leon "Tony" Doby, Benita Doby, Derek Doby, Adrian Doby, Daryah Doby, Quentin "DJ" Doby Jr, Jermaine Doby, Travis Steckler, Tessa Steckler, Curtis Steckler, Casey Steckler, Mason Steckler, Jamie Steckler, Brady Steckler, Ashley Leopold, Kaitlyn Steckler, Katie Reeder, Perry Reeder, Avery Reeder and Walker Steckler
Memorial Service will be held for Olin at 11 AM PST at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 282 NE. 32nd Ave. in Hillsboro, Oregon.
