In Loving Memory of a Devoted Mother, Educator, and Woman of Faith

With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, Olive "Louise" Romaine, who touched countless lives through her faith, service, and dedication to others. She was a loving mother to her three children: Carolyn Donaldson, Frank Romaine, and Jasmine Romaine. A proud grandmother to her two grandchildren: Britney Hatcher and Brooklyn Hatcher, lastly a treasured great-grandmother to two of her great-grandchildren: Brianne Hatcher and Carson Hatcher-Cruz. Her family was her greatest earthly joy, and she poured her love into them with unwavering tenderness, wisdom, and grace. The legacy of her love lives on in the generations she nurtured and the lives she so beautifully shaped.

An educator for more than 25 years, Louise answered her calling with grace, dedicating her life to shaping young minds and uplifting tender spirits. In every classroom she entered, she planted seeds of knowledge, confidence, and hope—nurturing her students with patience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Teaching was not simply her profession; it was her ministry, and generations were blessed by the wisdom and care she so freely gave. She deeply loved all her students and carried them in her heart long after they left her classroom.

She graduated from Matthew Gilbert High School (Class of 1969) and she's a proud alumni of Edward Waters College (Class of 1974) now known as Edward Waters University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education. These accomplishments were milestones she cherished, and she used her education as a means to serve others throughout her career. Music held a special place in her heart, and she faithfully served as a member of the choir, using her voice to praise God through singing and playing the piano.

Her life was filled with joy through her service to others, always given with a willing and compassionate heart. Whether through teaching, mentoring, encouraging, or simply listening, she lived a life marked by selflessness and kindness. A woman of unwavering faith, she placed her trust fully in God and remained strong in faith throughout her life. Her journey was marked by grace, strength, and enduring love. The legacy she leaves lives on through her family and in the many lives she touched and inspired.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister, Cheryl L. Townsend, and two nieces, Misty Captiville, and Sharon L. Townsend. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruby Juanita Sawyer and John L. Townsend Jr. and her brother Erskin (Roscoe) Townsend Sr.

She will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, faithful heart, and the many lives she touched through her service and love. Her life was a testament to faith and devotion, and though she now rests in God's eternal care, her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain a blessing.
