Olivia was born on September 13, 1978, in Boston, MA, and (except for a few years in Austin, TX) has been a Boston girl ever since. She sadly passed away on November 26, 2025, following a brief illness. She is survived by her mother Cynthia Denehy (Mark) and her father David Denton (Jessica), brother David Andrew Denton, and stepmother Lise Marx (Sharon Lane).

Academically, Olivia was an excellent student, especially in the subjects of math and art. She studied at Massachusetts College of Art and Eugene Lang College in NYC as well as taking courses at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston and Rhode Island School of Design. Her free spirit rebelled at the set curricula however, and she decided to pursue a career in the service industry. She quickly became an outstanding server both behind the bar and on the floor. She was committed to professionalism in her career and took pride in teaching new workers in the field. She was most recently employed as a manager at American Flatbread in Somerville, MA.

Except for her closet full of Fluevog shoes and boots, and her metal lunch boxes gathered over the years from flea markets and eBay, she did not really value possessions. Rather, Olivia was a collector of experiences. Among them were attending the Red Sox World Series win in 2004, skydiving, spontaneous trips to New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Puerto Rico, and many nights with friends at the Rocky Horror Picture Show - complete with costume of course. Olivia loved Red Sox baseball, animals (especially her cats Peeve and Ted Williams), shopping for clothes at Goodwill (which left more money to spend on expensive shoes), and ordering room service in hotels.

Olivia tended to live on the “wild side”. She had a free and independent spirit. She worked hard and played hard. Most of all, she loved her friends and family of whom she was fiercely protective and to whom she was eternally loyal, including twice a week visits with her father. Olivia never forgot her best friends she had lost. Those who knew her will find the world a little less bright without her, and she will be greatly missed.

Please join us for a gathering of her friends and family on January 25, 2026 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at American Flatbread, 45 Day Street, Somerville, MA. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Olivia’s name to the Somerville Animal Food Pantry (checks may be mailed to 66 Puritan Road, Somerville, MA 02145; or https://givebutter.com/AnVmJ1; or to MSPCA-Angell, c/o Carter Luke Pet Care Assistance Fund, 350 S.
