Orlando Jorden, a devoted husband, father, brother, and independent spirit, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Born on September 11, 1970, in Gary, Indiana, Orlando was the beloved son of the late Mentharn Sr. and Leda B. Jorden.
Orlando received his education at Locke Elementary School, Tolleston Middle School, and West Side High School. His deep-rooted faith was established early in life, and he committed his life to Christ at a young age.
For seventeen years, Orlando dedicated himself to the logistics industry with Burnham Trucking before fulfilling his dream of independence. He purchased his own truck and embraced life as an independent local truck driver, a profession he truly loved.
Orlando was preceded in death by his parents, Mentharn Sr. and Leda B. Jorden; five brothers, Edward Lee, Mentharn Jr., Orville, Norris, and Timothy Jorden; and one sister, Leda P. Cook. He leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment cherished by his loving wife, Shelley Jorden, and his devoted children: Shalaine Jorden, Orlando Mukes, Donnie Butler, Andrease Hill, Curtain Morris, Shanee' Butler, Natasha Morris, Wayne Davis, Nichole Hill, and Nicholas Hill, his mother-in-law, Mattie Gadson; his surviving brother, Clifton (Carol) Jorden; and his six sisters, Star Jorden, Doris Jorden, Mavis (Donnie) Jorden, Patricia (Jerry) Macon, Sheila (Jimmy) Jorden, and Olivia Strickland, three brother-in-laws, Everette Allen, Mark (Doretha) Hill, and Damian Cook Sr. 2 sister-in-laws, Carla Gadson and Carmelia Renee Jorden; one uncle Willie Buries; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
