Orlando Roland Watson, born May 31, 1970, in Gary, Indiana, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 55. He was the beloved eldest child of Gillie and Eunice Watson and the guiding big brother to his four siblings.
A proud member of Lew Wallace High School and Job Corps Technical Academy, Orlando discovered and refined his natural talent in both automotive work and carpentry. While he enjoyed working on cars, it was carpentry where he truly excelled. His work left a lasting mark on the city he loved, including his vital role in the rehabilitation of the Historic Glen Theater and the revitalization of Bailey Junior High School—projects that stand as a testament to his dedication and talent.
Orlando shared his life with his devoted partner, Paula Bess. Together they welcomed two sons, Xavier and Orlando Jr., whom he cherished deeply.
He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy his parents, Gillie and Eunice Watson; his brothers Cojuan and Reginald Watson; his sisters Octavia and Felicia Watson; his sons Xavier Watson and Orlando Watson Jr.; and his grandchildren Orlando Watson III, Sakura Watson, and O'Maiya Watson.
