Otha Mae (Davis) Bins, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on July 30, 1932, Otha (Bea) lived a life full of love, strength, and devotion to her family and community.
She was the proud mother of eight children. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Delores Parker of Nashville, TN, Tammie Hudson (Jerry), Shirle Kaufman, both of Memphis, Taliza Bins Johnson of Washington, DC; sons, Michael Bins of Memphis, Killy Bins of Baltimore, MD. She is preceded in death by son, John Bins III and daughter, Stefna Bernice Bins. She leaves two sisters, Helen Ford of Memphis and Emma (Cozy) Smith of Saginaw, Mi, and a brother, Walter (Barbara) Davis of Southaven, MS.
Otha was a cherished grandmother to seven grandsons and four granddaughters, and a great-grandmother to a host of great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her legacy forward. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
As a devoted caretaker, she touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity. She also dedicated many years of her life working for Owen’s Lumber Company until her retirement. Beyond her professional life, Otha Mae was an exceptional cook who found joy in caring for her plants and flowers. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and her home was always filled with warmth and laughter. Her unwavering compassion made her a pillar of strength for family and friends alike. Otha Mae will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
