Patricia May Burgess

Patricia "Patty" May Burgess, 74, passed away on June 10, 2025 at her home in Westbrook, ME surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

A beloved mother, aunt, sister, grandmother and friend, Patty was born Nov. 26, 1950 in Rumford, ME to Eli and Cecile Morin. Patty was the second youngest of 12 siblings. She attended St. Elizabeth's in Portland, ME, where she enjoyed living and learning with her sisters.

After high school, Patty gave birth to her sons, Dean Adam Gironda and Christopher John Gironda, and pursued a career in the sterile processing department at Maine Medical Center where she worked for over 30 years.

In 1993, Patty married her loving husband, Delbert Burgess. Together, they enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with their dogs, King and Charlie. Patty had quite the green thumb, and was well known for gifting fresh fruits and veggies to lucky family and friends. She also loved to cook and host get-togethers with family, especially their six grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Dean Adam Gironda and Christopher John Gironda; her grandchildren, Vincent and Lucas Gironda, Sofia and Max Gironda, and Brandi and Isabella Maslar; and her siblings, Evelyn, Dick, Shirley and Gail. Her husband, Delbert Burgess, Jr. preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Brooklawn Memorial Park located at 2002 Congress St, Portland, ME 04102. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patty's name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
