Patricia Reardon Calvo 1/19/1933-1/15/2026

Patricia was born to Kenny and Helen Reardon of Renton Washington. Pat was their only child; a sticking point for Patricia that she would remedy later in life. Pat attended St. Edward's Catholic Elementary School and went on to Holy Rosary High School, both in Seattle, Washington. Pat spent many days at her friend, Joan Griffin Schend's home during her elementary school years as her parents both worked during that time, something unusual back in the 1940's.

Pat flourished in her teen years accompanied by her besties Marion and Cheech as seen in a lot of family photos. Pat's friends came to visit often at her family's house on lake Washington for sun and fun. She swam across lake Washington as her greatest athletic endeavor. Pat loved her cats and grew up with the Scottie dogs and many puppies as her parents bred Scottish Terriers.

At 16, Pat met and dated George Calvo. They married when George was discharged from the Marines in 1952. When asked what attracted her to George, mom said, "Well he was so handsome....and, oh yeah, he also took good care of me." George and Pat went on to have 6 children. She determined from her youtthat she would be surrounded by children to compensate for her lonely childhood. She accomplished her dream.

She was a wonderful mother and well-loved. She and George were married for 25 years and remained friends over the years sharing the love and care for their children: Bill K. Calvo(Pam), Mary Lou Calvo, Patrick A.Calvo(Nora), Juan E. Calvo(Darrow), James R. Calvo and George T. Calvo.

Our mother was playful, chasing us about, singing and dancing to KJR radio. She loved the holidays and let us "help" bake Xmas cookies, decorate the Xmas tree, color Easter eggs and made big holiday dinners. Her favorite holiday was Valentine's Day. She carefully dressed and groomed us to go Grandma's house, family events and to school. How she managed all that while cooking and cleaning up behind us, we'll never know. We remember how she would stay up at night taking the hand-fulls of tinsel that we had thrown on the Xmas tree then laid it piece-by-piece across each branch. She never complained or scolded us about such things only added her finishing touches. She was known for her precision gift wrapping and fancy bows all through the years. No one wrapped a package like Pat Calvo!

In later years, Pat went on to work at Raffe Home Designs in Seattle and we all got new bed spreads and curtains in the deal. She worked at an electrical company in Everett for a few years and finally found a home at the Edmonds School District maintenance department as a payroll and accounts assistant where she later retired from.

Mom shared a house with friend DuAnn Steuben for some years and then moved to Fairwinds Brighton Court in Lynnwood. She loved her apartment and had friends that she dined with over the years. In time mom needed more care and support to stay in her loved apartment. The staff at Fairwinds provided kind and attentive care right up to the time of her last illness. We owe a debt of gratitude to the staff there for their kind and gentle care. Her granddaughter Lexie Koga also cared for her beloved grandmother which brought mom great comfort and joy in her last days.

Mom loved antiquing, auctions, theater, ballet, movies and concerts. Mom was a big fan of Pink Martini and a dear friend to Thomas Lauderdale the band leader. Thomas always provided Pat a front row seat at concerts and often referred to her as mom over the years. We hold so much gratitude for Thomas's love and kindness to our mother and our family.

The greatest joy of Pat's life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a generous gift giver and quick to treat everyone to dinners out, movies, and plays. She attended multiple events featuring her children and grandchildren over the years. Her grandchildren Tim Calvo(Dawn), Matt Calvo(Crystal), Brianna Calvo Hawkins(James), Zachary Calvo(Eliot), Jeremy Calvo, Lexie Calvo Koga(Brett), Zoe Calvo(Daniel), Lucas Calvo-Brown and Ava Calvo-Brown. Great grandchildren Emmie Calvo, Simone Calvo, Will Calvo and Jaime Koga.

In her last hours mom was surrounded by her family throughout her journey in the hospital. Even as she struggled to survive, she held court making us laugh and assuring that each one felt her love. We are incredibly blessed to have this amazing loving woman as our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We will miss her all the days of our lives.

On January 15th her beautiful heart carried her beyond the vail and into the bliss and love of the whole universe. There to greet her would be her late sons George and Jim Calvo as well as her parents Helen and Kenny Reardon.
