Patricia Lowe Clemens, beloved wife of George Dana Clemens and Chuck Myer, passed away at the Geauga Assisted Living Home in Montville, Ohio on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Pat was 97 years old.
Pat grew up in Bainbridge Township with her two sisters, Betty Lowe Button and Ruth Lowe Timmons at Lowe's Greenhouse, built and operated by her parents, Carlton Elsworth and Flora (Fathauer) Lowe. After graduating from Bainbridge High School and Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, Pat married her college sweetheart, Charles "Chuck" Richard Myer. They moved to Medina in 1948 and later to Wilmington, Ohio where they both taught school and Chuck coached. Chuck passed away after a short battle with cancer in 1952. Pat returned to Bainbridge to teach at Bainbridge Elementary School (now Kenston School District). Pat met her sister Betty's neighbor, George Dana Clemens, while riding horseback, and a friendship began. In 1957, Pat married George and joined him on his farm.
She became very involved with the American Angus Association, assisting George with the registrations of their Black Angus cattle. Pat devoted a great deal of time collecting donations for the American Cancer Society and Easterseals. In 1982, she returned to her floral roots and began working at her niece Sue Taylor's greenhouse, Burton Floral. Pat was also active in the Cub Scouts when her boys were members. Singing in the church choir and playing volleyball, far into her 80's at DTJ, were two of her favorite pastimes. The family always knew when Pat was happy; she could be heard softly humming or singing a favorite song. During their later years, Pat and George wintered in Arcadia, Florida and traveled the United States visiting family members in Texas, Oklahoma, and Georgia. Pat and George may be best remembered for their dedication to the establishment of the Amish Birthing Center in Middlefield, Ohio and for hosting the annual July 4th picnics for their extended families for over 50 years.
Pat and George had three sons, the late Steven, Michael (partner, Karen LaBoda) and Thomas; grandsons Carlton (spouse, Kerry Jones) Clemens and the late, Nick Clemens; great grandson Landen Clemens; the late George Clemens Jr., as well as a daughter Judy Johnson. Pat is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors, whom she loved dearly.
Please join the family in celebrating Pat's life on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Adam Hall Community Center, 11455 Washington Street, Auburn Township, Ohio 44023.
In lieu of flowers, please consider mailing a donation, in Pat's memory, to the Amish Birthing Center, 14999 Lenny Drive, Middlefield, Ohio 44062.
