Patricia Ruth Nordin Evans — Pat, aged 87 years young, passed away on December 14, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by her family.

The second-to-youngest of nine children, Pat was born in Clarksville, Arkansas, to Minnie Jane Grace and Sydnie Hedge Nordin, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1948, her family moved to Dragerton, Utah, where her father worked in the coal mines. Pat grew up in this small-town community, forming friendships and relationships that would last a lifetime. She attended school in Price, Utah, where her friendly nature and easy smile made her well known and well loved.

After high school, Pat attended beauty school, beginning a life of hard work balanced with caring for others. In addition to being a devoted mother, she held a variety of jobs throughout her life. She ran a beauty salon out of her home for several years, creating not just hairstyles, but friendships. Pat also served as a dispatcher for the Murray City Police Department and the Utah Highway Patrol, and worked for the State of Utah Department of Corrections and Utah State Lands and Forestry. No matter the role, she brought dedication, compassion, and a steady presence to her work.

Pat lived a life centered on love, connection, and family. She married Cloyd Larsen in 1958. Together, they raised four children—Jeff, Cyd, Chad, and Ryan—who were the pride of her life. Later, Pat married Vaughn Fairbanks and moved to Murray, Utah, where their relationship grew, evolved, and ultimately settled into a meaningful and lasting friendship. She later married Blair Evans and lived in Salt Lake City, Wyoming, and St. George, Utah. In her later years, Pat lived at Salt Lake City's Capri Park Condominiums, where she formed many close friendships and found great joy in their companionship.

With her effervescent humor, wit, and contagious laugh, Pat had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and seen. Whether it was a greeter at Walmart or a baby in a stroller, Pat had an effortless way of connecting with anyone she met and maintaining lifelong friendships. A wonderful cook, she believed meals were meant to be shared and conversations to linger. Her kids often teased her about her love of clothes and shoes, but she was always thoughtfully put together, reflecting her cheerful spirit and personal style. Pat had a memory like no other, matched only by her joy for life—neither of which faded with age.

Above all, Pat loved her family. She was happiest when surrounded by them, talking to or about them, and celebrating their lives.

Pat is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Heidi), Cyd, Chad (Audrey), and Ryan (Ginni); her grandchildren: Ali, Ashleigh, Brayden, Brock, Burke, Chandler, Chase, and Tate; her nine great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Syd, Mildred, Edna, Virginia (Nell), Betty, Bill, Ken, and John; and her husbands, Cloyd Larsen, Vaughn Fairbanks, and Blair Evans.

Pat was a woman whose warmth filled a room, whose genuine interest drew people close, and whose love for family and friends shaped a life well lived. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life open house will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., Capri Park Condominiums Clubhouse, 3616 S 860 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84106.
