Mrs. Patricia “Trish” Hoffman (née Baker), age 69, passed away on January 21, 2026, in Richmond, Virginia, surrounded by the love of her daughter and the support of those closest to her. Born on November 9, 1956, in Gary, Indiana, Trish lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.

Trish was the beloved wife of the late Randy C. Hoffman, a fallen United States Navy Non-Commissioned Officer. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Patricia A. Haverstuhl; her father, Harold Baker; and her sister, Cindy Johnson. Though she endured the loss of many dear to her, Trish carried their memories with grace and resilience.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Tesci Hoffman and Garett Hoffman; her brother Joseph Haverstuhl; and Debora Novak. In recent years, Trish found unwavering companionship and joy in the presence of her best friend Iris and Iris’s family. Her bond with Iris’s grandson Malachi—her cherished “lil buddy”—brought her immense comfort and happiness. Her frequent request to Tell my lil buddy I said hi!” became a heartfelt refrain that captured the tenderness of their connection.

Trish had a gift for making others feel seen and heard. Her sense of humor was sharp but kind, and her conversations were filled with genuine curiosity and care. She had a way of turning ordinary moments into treasured memories—whether it was sharing a loaded pizza with Iris, savoring a Reuben sandwich with a cold beer, or simply enjoying a spontaneous trip to Walmart.

She loved music and often danced along during car rides with a smile that could brighten any day. The holiday season held a special place in her heart—especially Christmas—which she celebrated with enthusiasm and joy. Her stories about decorating for the holidays were as vibrant as the lights she strung up each year.

Trish’s life was not defined by grand gestures but by the quiet strength of her compassion and the joy she brought to those around her. She found peace in friendship, laughter in everyday adventures, and love in the presence of family—both chosen and biological.

A memorial service honoring Trish’s life will be held in Montross, Va in the spring.

Though she is no longer with us in body, Trishs spirit lives on through every shared memory, every smile she inspired, and every “hi sent to a little buddy who will never forget her warmth.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
