Patricia Frances Hubacher (Collins), age 89, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in San Ramon, California, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Born on March 27, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John Francis and Izetta Warner Collins, Patti lived a life filled with warmth, joy, and devotion.

Patti grew up alongside her siblings—Barbara, Sandy, and John—and from an early age was known for her vibrant personality and friendly nature. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her family later moved to San Mateo, California, where Patti attended Notre Dame High School. There, she thrived as an active and spirited student, playing varsity basketball and volleyball and even modeling for I. Magnin. Her love of style and fun carried through her life, including her time working in a women's clothing boutique.

Patti married the love of her life, Edward John Hubacher. Together they built a rich and joyful life filled with world travel, square dancing, and countless cherished gatherings with family and friends. They raised three children: Kristi Ann Macias (Jim Macias), Eric John Hubacher, and Kerri Jean Hubacher Wheeler. Patti's family was the center of her world.

Her greatest joy came from being "Gram" to her four grandchildren: Daniel Macias (Vanessa Lotoux Macias), Jennifer Lauren Zink (Andrew Robert Zink), Ryan Clayton Wheeler (Johanna Descoines Wheeler), and Andrew Patrick Wheeler (Lauren Watts Wheeler). Patti's unconditional love for them was unwavering. She supported them in every way possible and was their confidant through life's ups and downs.

In later years, becoming a great-grandmother brought Patti immense happiness. Her great-grandchildren—Zoey Kristiann Zink, Chloe Rose Macias, James Paul Edward Macias, and John Andrew Zink—lovingly called her "Gigi." They were the light of her later years and brought her endless joy.

Patti's devotion extended beyond her immediate family. She lovingly cared for her parents in their later years with heartfelt attention and compassion. In turn, she was blessed with the care of dedicated caregivers Mary and Emily, whose kindness will always be remembered by Patti's family. The family also expresses deep gratitude to the team at VITAS Healthcare for their compassionate support.

Patricia Frances Hubacher leaves behind a legacy of warmth, presence, and unconditional love. She showed up fully for the people she loved, enriching the lives of all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on March 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raymond Catholic Church, 11555 Shannon Avenue, Dublin, California. A gathering will follow to celebrate Patti's remarkable life.
