Patricia Lea Brooks passed away on December 1, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas.
Patricia was born in 1939 in New York to Rolla Norwood Miller and Retha Fern Howell. She later built her life across several communities, including Albany and St. Joseph, Missouri, where she was known and loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Yates, who passed in September 2015, and by her husband, Larry Brooks, whom she married on March 23, 1973. Patricia and Larry shared many years together until his passing in 2007.
Patricia is survived by her grandson, Dakotah Yates, who will carry forward her memory.
Those who knew Patricia remember her for her strong spirit, firecracker personality, and unmistakable presence. She brought energy into every room she entered and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Though she will be deeply missed, her warmth, strength, and love continue to live on through the lives she touched.
In accordance with her wishes, Patricia will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. Her life will be privately commemorated by family.
