Patricia Anne Monte Calvo was born to Walter and Veronica Gilman on March 23, 1927 in Staten Island, New York. She passed away peacefully at the age of 97, surrounded by family on November 12, 2024. She is survived by her children: Frank, Tony, Kathy, Dan, Tim, and Nick, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pat attended Hollywood High School in California and eventually moved to San Francisco where she met her husband, Frank Monte-Calvo. Frank and Pat enjoyed 60 years of marriage raising 6 children. They moved to Indiana and then on to Portland, Oregon before moving to their final home in Renton, Washington where they spent the rest of their days.
Patricia enjoyed time with her family, her pets, and loved singing in the choir at Church and volunteering at the Renton Senior Center. She worked at Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center for 20+ years which she loved. Pat always loved reading and was an amazing historian. She was extremely knowledgeable (and opinionated) in world politics. We enjoyed her stories of the Great Depression, War, and of marrying a Pearl Harbor Survivor. These sweet memories will live on forever in our hearts!
A memorial service was held at North Bend Community Church by her grandson, Ryan Banashak, on March 23, 2025 - her birthday. It was a beautiful time of remembrance and celebration.
