Patricia Bresien Murchie, born Patricia Helen Conklin, was fondly known as Pat to her friends and family. Born on May 5, 1940, in Syracuse, New York, Pat was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life. She passed away peacefully in Chardon, Ohio on December 21, 2025, from natural causes after a years long decline due to Alzheimer's.

Pat was a proud graduate of Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, New York. After secretarial school, she began her career at the New York State Thruway Authority, where she served as a dedicated secretary and met her first husband Robert (Bob). Pat then focused on family and her role as a homemaker, a title she held with love. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she later co-owned The Needle Hive, a cross-stitch shop, and managed The Silo Gift Shop, both in East Aurora, New York.

Above all, Pat’s heart belonged to her family. She was a loving spouse to John Murchie from 2001 until her passing, and previously to Robert Bresien from 1964 until his passing in 2000. She was a cherished mother to Tim, Gary, and Gretchen Bresien, and Patrick Murchie and his wife Laura, and was a beloved sister-in-law to Donna Conklin and step-sister to Eileen Krivokopich and Terry Temescu. Her grandchildren, Ella Bresien, and Abigail, Emma, Caroline, and Lucille Murchie, as well as her nieces, nephews and their families, were the lights of her life. Pat was predeceased by her brother Richard Conklin, brother-in-law Russell Bresien and sister-in-law Patricia Bresien, and her parents/step-parents: Kenneth/Mabel Conklin, Carolyn/Ernie Gross.

Pat loved music and joyfully sang in the church choir for many years. She had a wealth of friends from bridge club, church, and the community. Her kindness was evident in every aspect of her life. Pat’s hands were rarely still, as she found great joy in baking, knitting, and cross-stitching, each creation a testament to her patience and care.

Those who knew Pat will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and friendliness. She touched many lives with her warm smile and generous spirit. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she met and the family she adored.

As we bid farewell to Patricia Bresien Murchie, we remember her full life, a journey completed, and a soul at peace. In lieu of services or flowers, please consider making a gift to your local Hospice organization in memory of Pat.
