Patricia "Pat" Tara of St. Petersburg passed away February 8, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born in Perkasie, Pennsylvania on January 17, 1939. She and her Parents, Clifford and Eleanor, moved to Oreland, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Springfield High School in 1957. She was an only child, but she enjoyed spending time with her cousins (Jacquelyn, Phillip, Douglas, Derick, and Debra). She especially enjoyed spending time with Jacquelyn since they were closest in age. Her family frequently traveled to Saint Petersburg where her mother Eleanor had graduated from Saint Petersburg High School. They enjoyed spending time at the beach. The beach is where she would go on to meet the love of her life, Anthony Tara. This chance meeting was the beginning of their life together. They were married on March 10, 1960.

She worked briefly at Webb City and Honeywell, but her most rewarding and notable career was being a mother to her children, and later a grandmother or "Nana" to her grandchildren and even a great grandchild. She had a beautiful smile and was selfless in many ways, her family was everything to her. She was a BSA Den Mother for several years and was always available to drive her children to the many activities (school, swim meets, Scouts). She was always ready to prepare a meal even for "quick visits" and insisted you stay and eat. Many times, she had a dessert already made for every gathering. She was always cooking and cleaning for her family and loved having the family together for any occasion but especially for birthdays, holidays, and trips on the Rainbow River. She always planned summer vacations for the family and made sure her kids had plenty of activities and comic books to keep them busy. They had many campers and RVs where they would frequent camping spots throughout the southeast. When her children were older, she and her husband would travel, in their RV, to faraway places like Canada and Mexico. They were able to travel to Europe several times to visit family in Slovakia, and they took several cruises together. When their grandchildren were old enough, Nana and Papa would take them frequently on mini-vacations. Both Pat and her husband were very active in their grandchildren's lives.

She loved animals. There were too many cats to name and several dogs in the family home. Later in life she enjoyed watching and sharing the many cat and dog videos on the internet. She kept busy with Facebook and loved keeping in touch with friends and family. She always had a Pen Pal, throughout her life she loved making friends and sending letters with people all over the world.

She was an active member of Transfiguration Catholic Church for many years and later, Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Anthony Tara, her parents Clifford and Eleanor, sisters-in-law Vera (Tony) Miŝany, Anne (Joe) Orlická, Gita (Iren) Ŝulkova, her cousins Jacquelyn (Michael), Philip, and Derick. She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Scott) Facey, sons Anthony and Patrick (Renee), grandchildren Patrice, Adam (Zoe), Paige (Nick), Madeline, Anneliese, great grandchild Miles and her cousins Doug (Pat) and Debra. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on February 28, 2026 at 11AM, followed by graveside services at 1PM in Memorial Gardens.
