August 8, 1946 - November 9, 2025
Patricia "Patsy" Ann Villata passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Sacramento, California. She was born on August 8, 1946, in Oakland, California. Over the years, she called Lafayette, California, and Washington, D.C., home before retiring to Benicia, California.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Dorothy Villata, and her younger brother, Stephen Villata. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Cruickshank; her son, Robert Cruickshank, and daughter-in-law, Tina Cruickshank; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.
A talented artist and decorator with a flair for visual merchandising, Patsy brought beauty to everything she touched. Her passion for painting and design allowed her to travel the world while forming lasting friendships along the way. In addition to her artistic gifts, she was a skilled guitarist and had an enduring love of music that inspired those around her. Patsy also had a special talent for cooking Italian food that delighted family and friends alike. Her warm spirit and creative vision left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
At Patsy's request, there will be no formal service. A private celebration of life will take place in Pacific Grove, California, on May 30, 2026—one of her favorite places.
In honor of Patsy's love for animals, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of the North Bay at https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/hsnb. Those interested in joining the family on the Monterey Peninsula in May are encouraged to contact Jenny or Rob Cruickshank for more information.
