It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patrick Duncan Feely, age 84, on December 9, 2025. Pat was born on April 7, 1941, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Alfred William Feely, a career Army serviceman, and Mabel Lucretia Chickering, an Army Registered Nurse. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he developed the strong sense of duty and integrity that would define his life.

Pat was a proud father to Patꞌti Ann Berg, Theresa Dietta Feely, Patrick Alfred Feely and wife Laura, and as well as a grandfather to Brianna D. Weigum, Jason L. Berg, Kayla R. Berg, Amanda T. Feely, Justin W. Nevill, Patrick A. Nevill, Brandon W. Nevill, Mathew L. Nevill, Savannah A. Nevill, Erin R. Smith and husband, Brennan, Patrick I. Feely, and Teagan B. Feely. He was also the proud great-grandfather of five. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles David Feely, and his sister Barbara Jean Webster.

On June 17, 1969, Pat married Bonita "Bonnie" Aretta Moore in Honolulu, Hawaii. They built a loving life together, raising their family in various locations before ultimately settling in Bulverde, Texas, where they made their forever home.
Pat’s life was marked by a deep commitment to service. After high school, he began working as a plumber, but his path soon took a different direction when he was drafted into the U.S. Army in December 1964. Over the next 35 years, Pat would dedicate himself to a distinguished career in the Army, primarily serving in the medical corps. He began as a combat medic and rose rapidly through the ranks, serving with valor in numerous locations, including Vietnam, where he was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for Heroism.

Throughout his career, Pat earned numerous awards and decorations, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medals with “V” Device for Valor, the Purple Heart, Combat Medical Badge, multiple Commendation Medals, and Meritorious Service Medals, among others. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to military medicine, Pat was selected to become part of a new program for medics to transition into Physician Assistants. He was eventually promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and served as the first Chief Physician Assistant for the Army Medical Specialists Corps. His leadership and dedication to his fellow soldiers and to the Army were widely respected, and his service continues to inspire those who served with him.

Pat retired from active-duty January 31, 2000, having completed a career that spanned more than three decades of selfless service. After retiring, Pat and Bonnie settled in Bulverde, Texas, where he devoted his time to his family and his passions, especially hunting, fishing, and supporting youth sports. He loved nothing more than sharing these activities with his children and grandchildren.

Pat was a loving and devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a true patriot. He is remembered not only for his distinguished military career but also for his warmth, kindness, and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the BSB Activity Center, located at 30280 Cougar Bend, Bulverde, TX.
