Patrick Vernon "Pat" Gill, age 73, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. Born on June 13, 1952, in Brookings, South Dakota, Pat lived a life marked by dedication to his family and a strong work ethic.
Pat began worked as a Senior Correction Officer at the South Dakota State Penitentiary, where he served with commitment and integrity. Later in life, he pursued entrepreneurial ventures as a self-employed professional in vending and commercial cleaning. In addition to these roles, Pat worked as a grocery associate for Walmart, where his friendly demeanor and hard work left a lasting impression on those around him.
Family was at the heart of Pat's life. He shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Holly. Together they built a loving home and raised their children: daughter Nita Gill; son Jacob and his partner Tiffany Miller; son Brandon; and daughter-in-law Jami. Pat was also the proud grandfather of Ethan, Emma, Dean, Gavin, Lucy, and Zarek. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and found immense joy in being an active part of their lives.
Pat is survived by his siblings JoEllen, Judy, and John and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by his parents, Kathryn and William Gill; his brothers Stephen, Lawrence, James, and William; and his sister Mary. Despite these losses, he carried forward their memory with love and honor.
In addition to his professional accomplishments and devotion to family, Pat had a passion for creativity. He enjoyed oil and acrylic painting—a hobby that allowed him to express himself artistically while finding peace in the process.
Pat’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and resilience. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best—his family and friends who were touched by his kindness and unwavering support.
