Patrick Kevin LaPatra departed this life on December 11, 2025. Born on February 13, 1967, in Mexico, NY to Patricia and Richard LaPatra.
Patrick graduated from Mexico Academy Central Schools in 1985. He then served as an electrician in United States Navy from 1985 to 1996 and rose to the rank of Petty Officer First Class before receiving an honorable discharge. During his naval career he served in the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm and was recognized for his professionalism and dedication, being awarded the Navy Achievement Medal three times.
He was an avid sports fan who loved watching his Buffalo Bills and Syracuse basketball. But his favorite athlete was his son Joey. Pat could be found watching him from the stands of the soccer field or basketball court, or on the track and cross-country course. He also coached several of Joey's soccer and Blackcats basketball teams. Pat was so very proud of his son and all of his accomplishments... in sports, academics, and life in general.
Patrick is preceded in death by his sister Lisa, his mother Patricia, and his father Richard. He is survived by his son Joseph, several nieces and nephews, and his feline companion Elvis, as well as many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Visitation and service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 9330 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, Indiana on Saturday, December 27th with visitation from 10-12 and service immediately following. * In lieu of flowers, donations to Joey will be accepted at the church.
