Patrick Wayne Madden, to most known simply as Pat, left us too soon on December 6, 2025, in Austin, Texas, after a brief battle with leukemia. He was 73.
He was born on September 11, 1952, in El Reno, Oklahoma. As a General Framing Contractor for 40 years on the California Central Coast, he was respected by so many in the construction world and loved by so many more. He was amazing to watch as he worked on his never-ending list of home projects. Pat was strong, unwavering, and loyal to a fault. He expressed his deep affection through his actions and was always there for people he cared for. He was the one person you could always count on for guidance and support, and to have the right tools for the job.
Pat loved his wife of 37 years, Robin, and they were dedicated to each other until the end. Pat was an amazing dad to his three children and would have done anything for them. He was proud of them and always let them know. They cherish their memories of Klamath River fishing trips, road trips for soccer or airsoft, and wise advice for home projects and for life. He was also dedicated to the rest of his family as he spent years helping in the care of his mother, Clara.
Pat knew the answer to every question on every subject and, if not, made you think he did. Although he originally claimed to not want them, he started the tradition of making a poached egg for the family dog every morning and any facade of toughness melted away - everyone knew who the softest touch in the family was.
He left us too soon. He was brave and funny to the end. Pat was truly one of a kind, and he is loved and missed more than he could have ever imagined.
