Patrick Herbert Morton was born in Camden on Gauley, West Virginia on May 2, 1940 to Howard Jennings and Gertrude (Boggs) Morton. He was the third child of four. He grew up in West Virginia for the first 10 years of his life until his family packed up everything in a one-wheel wagon and moved the family to Sacramento, California. He graduated from El Camino High School, in Sacramento, where he excelled in sports and served as the Quarterback, earning All Northern California, All City and All in Land Empire.
In June 1961, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, graduating from Marine Officers Training. Patrick honorably served his country as a Captain in the US Marine Corps for four years including a tour in Viet Nam.
Patrick married Maralee Jane Grote in November 1961, in Sacramento, California. They had three children together. In 1976, Patrick married Joan Lee Hartke and they spent many happy years together in Saratoga, California until her untimely passing in 1993. In 1995, Patrick met Sally Anderson and they married in 2002. Patrick and Sally had 30 wonderful years together. They enjoyed dancing, traveling, and spending time with their family.
In the late 1960s, Patrick began building his company Quadrep which pioneered efforts to bring Japanese electronics to American business. Quadrep served industries such as aerospace, medical, industrial, and consumer electronics with products such as RF components, LEDs, and power supplies. A leader in the burgeoning tech industry, Quadrep functioned as a crucial link between electronics manufacturers and customers, offering technical sales support and distribution services with key operations in California, the Pacific Northwest, and Asia.
Patrick passed away at the age of 85 on January 8, 2026 at his home in La Quinta, California after a lengthy battle with heart disease.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife Sally, three children: Brad, Robert and Susie and three beautiful grandchildren Madison, Makenna, and Michael, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan, brothers Donald and Scott and his sister Carolyn.
Patrick will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
