Patrick Michael Payne passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on December 22, 2025.
Pat was born on June 2,1950 in St. Louis, Missouri to Thomas and Ellen Payne. Pat was welcomed into heaven by his parents, and he leaves behind a family who loved him. He is survived by his five children, Sean, Jeremy (Holly), Mike (Amanda), Erin, and Patrick Jr., as well as two brothers, T. Michael (Cindy) and Denny (Karon). Pat was the proud and loving grandfather of seven grandchildren, Keltin, Liam, Allie, Nora, Zylah, Nolan and Max.
Pat had a distinguished career as an executive with Monsanto and Bayer where his duties took him to 45 countries. He had an adventurous soul and was up for activities of any kind. Although he possessed neither rhythm or a melodious voice, song, dance and music were his favorite pastimes.
Pat had an energy and zest for life that could fill a room or a bar. His love for his children and his grandchildren was endless, and he will live on through them. Pat will be missed beyond words, but remembered with smiles, laughter and love--exactly how he would want it
The family will hold a Celebration of Life in Kansas City, Missouri at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Pat would ask you to make a donation to the charity of your choice in his memory.
