Patrick Leo Touhey, age 90, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Born on March 26, 1935, in Oklahoma City to James Raymond Touhey and Mary Grace Touhey, Patrick lived a life of service, creativity, and devotion to family and faith. He served his country with pride in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War era and was honorably discharged.
Patrick built a distinguished career as an aircraft welder at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, where he worked for nearly 27 years. A devout Catholic, he was known for his love of music, having played country guitar under the name "Alvin Walker" in Nashville, Tennessee. It was through music that he met his beloved wife, Ruth Ann, while playing together in their church band.
A natural storyteller with a philosophical mind, Patrick loved conversation and connecting with others. He was an avid reader with a particular fondness for horror, thrillers, and science fiction, especially topics related to space. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood carving and tinkering with creative projects.
Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Touhey; his parents, James Raymond and Mary Grace Touhey; and his sister, Genevieve.
He is survived by his children: Cindy McMahon, Melody Spruill, Kevin Touhey, Jennifer Lynn McCreery, and James Touhey; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with military honors is planned. Details to be announced.
