Patti Gail Johnson, 72, passed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, where she lived for many years.
Patti was born on December 6, 1953, as the third of five children to Herman Ray and Martha (Fox) Johnson of Dawson Springs, KY. She spent much of her youth in Louisville where she attended the Kentucky School for the Blind. In 1967, the Johnson family relocated to Titusville, Florida. Patti attended Madison Junior High and graduated from Titusville High School in June 1972. During her years in Florida, she was an active member of First Christian Church, Titusville, a community that always held a special place in her heart.
Following her graduation, Patti attended Florida State University before beginning her working life with the Bureau of Blind Services in Daytona. Through her work in Daytona, Patti received a job opportunity taking her back to her Kentucky roots. She moved to Louisville in the 1980s and dedicated many years of service to Jefferson County.
Patti was a woman of fierce independence. She navigated life with a quiet strength, rarely wavering from the path she set for herself. She was a faithful attendee of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville; she also gave back to her community by volunteering at the Kentucky School for the Blind. Being blind from birth, Patti often had a companion dog to live, work and play with. Patti was an avid reader and frequently carried her braille reader with her to pass the time.
In addition to her parents, Patti is preceded in death by her sister Sara Ann Johnson, her brother, Douglas W. Johnson, and several loyal, furry friends.
Patti is survived by her sister, Laura Johnson of Port St. John, FL; brother, Jeff Johnson of Port St. John, FL; several important friends, and many nieces and nephews.
Patti will be missed for her Christian example, her strong-willed fortitude, her simple smile and that notorious stash of peppermint patties in the fridge.
Plans for a memorial service will be determined at a future time.
