Paul G. Christean obituary

Paul Gene Christean, 82, passed away suddenly at his home in Salt Lake City on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Paul joined the Airforce at about 20 years old where he worked with the Strategic Air Command on B-52 bombers. After the Airforce, he had a long career as an engineer at Varian Medical Systems, Inc.
Paul started taking pictures with a little box camera when he was 6 years old. Photography became his passion throughout his life. His photographs demonstrated his vast love of nature, especially in southern Utah, combined with an extraordinary talent with digital photography. He viewed life through the lens of his camera and recorded people, buildings, color and the vast dimensions of life. For the last many years of his life, he enjoyed capturing the beauty of creative dance and ballet by becoming a follower and friend with the SB Dance Company. His body of work was enormous and incredible.
Paul was the son of Arthur Grant Christean and Bonnie Robinson Christean. He was preceded in death by his brother Arthur G. Christean, Jr. and his sister-in-law Nelda B. Christean. He is survived by his sister Shawna C. Farmer, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 3 pm at the Rose Room at the Rose Wagner Center, 138 W. Broadway in Salt Lake City.
