95 years of age and longtime resident of Fullerton, Whitehall Township, passed away early Thursday morning January 8, 2026 while a guest at Heather Glen Senior Living. He was the husband of Arlene S. (Millham) Geissinger for 43 years at the time of her passing on November 6, 1991. Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Paul E. and Flora M. (McQuilken) Geissinger, Sr.
A 1948 graduate of Whitehall High School, Gus honorably served his Country in the US Navy attaining the rank of Senior Chief Machinist Mate. He was a lifelong member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 115, serving as Vice President for 3 years and President for 9 years. He was lifetime member of Jones-Quigg American Legion Post 739 in Hokendauqua.
Gus was a very active member of Saint John's United Church of Christ Fullerton, where he served on Consistory, ordained a Deacon, Chairman of the Field of Dreams and Property Committees, and assisted in the Church office. He enjoyed his memberships in the Whitehall Senior Citizens serving as Treasurer, Whitehall AARP, and Our Lady Help of Christians Senior Citizens. He was a lifetime member of Fullerton Fire Company #1. He was proud to be a Helping Heart Volunteer at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.
A member of Carpenters Union #214, he was a skilled installer for Ted Smith Flooring of West Reading, and Lehigh Tile and Marble in Allentown. Early in life he worked for the Zollinger-Harned Department Store in Allentown.
He is survived by sons Kerry P. with wife Linda (Newhart) of Schnecksville, Paul F. with wife Susan (Fisher) of Whitehall, Glenn A. with wife Julia (Winters) of Plainfield Twp; daughter in law Linda M. (Frantz) Geissinger of Whitehall; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and extended family members. Gus was predeceased by son Craig A. Geissinger in 2018 and sister Lucille M. Hersh along with her husband Donald.
Services officiated by Bishop Glenn A. Geissinger will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday January 17, 2026 in the Gilbert Funeral Home 444 Pershing Boulevard, Whitehall, Pennsylvania 18052, where his family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Garden of Peace Cemetery Whitehall.
