Paul Gordon Gruber of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away at the age of 63 on February 6, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia after a year-long battle with cancer. Born on August 20, 1962, in Bryan, Texas to George H. Gruber and Alberta L. Gruber. Paul spent his formative years in Dallas, Texas. Paul's life journey would eventually carry him from the heart of Texas to the hills of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alberta Gruber of Dallas, Texas, as well as his brother Gary Gruber of Winnsboro, Texas.
Paul shared 38 devoted years of marriage with his wife Jamie. Together they raised three children—James, Gwen, and Bennett—instilling in them the same values of perseverance and creativity that guided Paul's own journey. He is also survived by his sisters: Terry Dargon of Dallas, Texas; Jeanie Uhrick and her husband Mike of Dallas, Texas; and Martha Rose and her husband Doug of Austin,Texas.
From an early age, Paul was drawn to adventure and hands-on pursuits. Whether riding motorcycles, fishing with his brother Gary, or exploring new terrain, he embraced every opportunity to be outside and learn how things worked. His deep curiosity and self-reliant nature were defining qualities throughout his life.
In recent years, Paul fulfilled a longtime dream when he and Jamie purchased a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Surrounded by nature's beauty, he reveled in country living—driving his tractor around the pasture, riding his motorcycle on wooded trails, working on projects in his shop, or even chopping wood brought him immense joy.
A true tinkerer at heart, Paul had an exceptional knack for fixing things. If something was broken or unfamiliar, he would research it until he mastered it—passing that industrious spirit along to his children and even a bit to Jamie.
Paul's presence will be deeply missed. His keen mind and corny sense of humor will be remembered fondly. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspiration to all who carry forward his spirit of curiosity and determination.
The family will host a celebration of life in the Spring.
