Paul S. Marshall, age 59, of Hanover, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, in the comfort of his loving family and friends.

Paul was born, raised, and educated in Quincy, and was a graduate of Boston College High School, Class of 1984. He was also a graduate of Boston College, Class of 1989.

Paul was the captain of the 1989 Boston College Eagles hockey team and was the first ever Quincy resident to be drafted in the National Hockey League, selected in the fourth round by the Philadelphia Flyers.

He played in the Flyers minor league system for three years before taking his talents to the Finnish Professional Hockey League, where he played with the Tampere Lions for four years.

After his retirement from professional hockey, Paul was employed as a sales representative for Network Plus, now Granite Telecommunications, for ten years.

Paul then worked as a hockey and skating instructor for Driscoll Hockey School for many years where he enjoyed teaching the skills of the game.

He was an avid Boston sports fan and always retained his love of hockey.

Paul enjoyed several years living in Hollywood, Florida, where he embraced the sunshine and coastal lifestyle. He treasured time spent traveling with family, especially trips to Aruba, where many happy memories were made. He relished backyard barbecues, relaxed gatherings with family and friends, and his favorite seafood meals. Paul was a quiet man who led by example, whether home or away, he valued simple moments together and the laughter shared with those closest to him.

Beloved son of the late Louise M. (Caporale) Marshall and Clifford H. Marshall, High Sheriff of Norfolk County.

Devoted brother of Clifford H. "Chuck" Marshall III of Braintree, Michael J. Marshall, Sr. and his wife Patricia of Weymouth, and Christopher J. Marshall of Hingham.

Dear uncle of Rachel Marshall-Virtue and her husband Jordan, Godfather of Julia Marshall-Flaherty and her husband Sean, Clifford James Marshall, Grace Marshall-McDermott and her husband Elliot, James Marshall, and Christina Marshall. He was also the dear uncle of the late Michael J. Marshall, Jr.

Much-loved great uncle of Marshall, Maddox, Merrick, Michael, Bennet, and Ada.

Paul is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, February 18, from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy, on Thursday, February 19, at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
