Mrs. Paula White English, age 72, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Born on July 5, 1953, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, she lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and profession.
Paula was a proud graduate of Linden High School in Linden, Alabama, Class of 1971. Her passion for caring for others led her to pursue a career in nursing. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in 1976 and later advanced her education by obtaining a nursing degree from George Corley Wallace State Community College in Selma, Alabama, graduating in 1981.
Over the course of four decades, Paula devoted herself to the nursing profession with remarkable commitment and skill. Her career spanned a wide range of specialties including Labor and Delivery, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pre-operative Screening, and Surgical Recovery. Her work touched countless lives and reflected her deep sense of empathy and professionalism.
Beyond her career achievements, Paula was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love formed the heart of her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Quinton Barkley, Stephanie Barkley, Lanah Jackson; her stepson Drake English; and her cherished grandchildren: Macy English, Coley Barkley, Joseph Barkley, Wells Jackson, and Cole Jackson.
She is also survived by her brother Jack White and sister-in-law Cindy White. Paula was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kerry English; her father Joe Paul White; mother Flora Coley White Pearson; and brother Tommie Joe White.
A woman of strength and grace, Paula’s legacy lives on through the lives she nurtured both at home and in the hospital wards where she served so faithfully.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, the 7th of February, at 1:00 at The Miller Chapel, 2872 Noel C Conaway Rd, Guyton, GA 31312. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or The Living Vine Maternity Home—causes that reflect Paula’s lifelong commitment to care and compassion.
