Pauline Mastronardi (72) of Reading, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 26, 2025, after a brave, year-long fight with glioblastoma. She was surrounded by family in the months ahead of this day and she leaves us with a lifetime of cherished memories. She was born on February 8, 1953, in Methuen, MA to George E. Dionne and Rose-Anne Leclerc and she was largely raised by her French Canadian mother and siblings in their home beside their family church in Chelsea, MA. She met and fell in love with Richard and married him in 1976. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, niece, aunt, cousin and friend who loved her family deeply. Pauline was known for her kind heart, hard-working nature, and her devotion to giving herself to others and uniting us. She was the most incredible home-maker, trip planner, gardener, seamstress, cook and entertainer.

Pauline graduated from Saint Rose High School in 1970 and then went on to earn an associate's degree at Bryant and Stratton in 1972. She worked for many years as a legal secretary and bookkeeper, before ending her career with her favorite work as a caregiver and part-time nanny. Pauline shined in this role and would spend hours crafting, cooking, making music and playing with children indoors and out. Being a nurturing wife and mother was her greatest passion in life, and this gave her immense joy and purpose. She lived for a sun-filled day with her family or friends by her side.

Pauline is survived by her loving husband Richard (of Revere, MA); son Christian and his wife Sherri Mastronardi and her grandsons Charlie, Cody and Nicky (of Wilmington, MA); her son David Mastronardi and grandchildren Anthony, Joseph and Amelia (of Reading, MA); and her daughter Lauren and her husband Jonathan Hackett and grandson Greyson (of Wenham, MA). She was the youngest of 10 children Marie-Rose Bower, Theresa Gentile, George Dionne, Thomas Dionne, Jean-Marie Dionne, Gabriel Dionne, John Dionne, Marcelle O'Hara, Monique Boilard, and many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the love and support they received over the past year.

Pauline will be honored with a wake on Monday, January 5th, 9:00-11:00 am at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home at 25 Sanborn Street, Reading, MA, followed by a funeral Mass at Saint Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St, Reading, MA 01867 at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to The Brain Tumor Society to support brain tumor treatment and research at www.tbts.org.
